Is This the Real Uniswap? How to Verify the Official Exchange Link

“Uniswap exchange official” sounds like a simple search, yet the results can mix genuine pages with ads and clones. The trick is knowing which addresses are real and checking them yourself instead of trusting whatever ranks first. For transparency: this site is an editorial guide run independently of Uniswap Labs and the Uniswap protocol.

Which Uniswap Domains Are Genuine?

Uniswap is a decentralized exchange using an automated market maker. Instead of matching buyers with sellers on an order book, it lets you trade against liquidity pools across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Unichain and other networks. The company that builds the main interface is Uniswap Labs.

Different jobs live on different subdomains. That’s normal, and it’s also why people get confused.

Domain Verification Rule

Notice the pattern: every official domain ends in uniswap.org. Anything else (a different ending, extra words before the dot, hyphens) should be treated as unofficial.

A Five-Point Check Before Connecting

Run through this whenever you open the exchange:

  1. Typed or bookmarked?

You should arrive by typing app.uniswap.org or using a saved bookmark, never from an ad, DM or email link.

  2. Exact domain?

Read it from right to left: “.org”, then “uniswap”, then “app”. Nothing in between.

  3. HTTPS present?

Look for the padlock. Remember that fake sites also get certificates, so this is a minimum, not proof.

  4. No odd characters?

Letters from other alphabets can mimic Latin ones. If something looks slightly off, close the tab.

  5. Sensible wallet prompt?

Opening the app should only ask you to connect. A signature request at this point is a warning.

Getting the Official Uniswap Wallet

Uniswap Labs also makes a self-custody wallet with built-in swaps and multi-chain support. Download only from official listings:

🍎

App Store (iOS)

Look strictly for the verified listing titled “Uniswap: Crypto & NFT Wallet”.

🤖

Google Play (Android)

Download the official Uniswap Wallet for Android.

🧩

Chrome Web Store (Extension)

Uniswap Extension, published exclusively under the entity “Universal Navigation Inc”.

“Universal Navigation Inc” may look unfamiliar, but it is Uniswap Labs’ legal company name. A listing from any other publisher is a fake. The wallet creates a 12-word recovery phrase and offers an optional encrypted, password-protected cloud backup.

Where People Get Caught

Here are a few realistic scenarios:

  • The “v4 launch” ad. A sponsored result promises early access to new features. The domain has an extra word and a hyphen. The page asks you to sign immediately.
  • The helpful stranger. You post about a stuck swap. Within minutes, a “Uniswap moderator” DMs you a support form that requests your recovery phrase.
  • The copied address. You send funds to an address from your history that matches the first and last characters of your usual one, but it was planted by an address-poisoning transfer.
  • The familiar ticker. You search a token by name, pick the first result and buy a fake with a different contract address.
  • The free claim. A “UNI airdrop” page asks for a permit or setApprovalForAll signature, which hands over control of your assets.

Red Flags Checklist

If you encounter any of the following items, halt all activity and disconnect your wallet immediately:

  • A domain that isn’t an official uniswap.org address
  • Any request for your recovery phrase
  • A “validate” or “sync wallet” step (the real app has none)
  • Unprompted messages from “support”
  • Signatures you don’t understand
  • Pressure: timers, limited spots, “act now”

Golden Rule

Above everything else: never type your seed phrase into a website, app form, chat or support request.

Recovery Steps if You Slipped Up

If you suspect you interacted with a phishing site or signed a malicious permit:

  1. Disconnect site

Disconnect the suspicious site in your wallet settings immediately.

  2. Revoke allowances

Revoke any approvals you granted using a tool such as revoke.cash (typed manually).

  3. Protect unaffected funds

Shift unaffected funds to a safe address or fresh hardware wallet.

  4. Migrate if phrase exposed

If your recovery phrase was exposed, set up a completely new wallet with a fresh phrase and move everything over.

  5. Report malicious link

Report the domain via your browser and support.uniswap.org.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Clarifications on domain structure, wallet security, and official support channels.

Why does Uniswap use several domains?

Each one has a job: uniswap.org for information, app.uniswap.org for trading, support.uniswap.org for help. All sit under uniswap.org.

How can I tell if a token on Uniswap is genuine?

Compare its contract address with the address published by the token’s own official project. Tickers can be copied.

Does a hardware wallet stop drainer sites?

It adds a confirmation on the device, but if you approve a malicious signature, the device will still sign it.

How do I contact official Uniswap support?

Use support.uniswap.org or email [email protected]. Ignore anyone who contacts you first.

What is address poisoning?

It’s when attackers send tiny transfers from an address resembling one you use, so you copy the wrong one from your history.
